Geopolitics Discussion Group Burger Week
Details
Hey everyone!
We decided, for our next outing, to try something different and meet to celebrate Burger Week in Halifax. There is no speaker at this event, but it will be attended by cyber-security professionals, for those interested in cyber-security. No need to drink if you aren't a drinker (I won't be drinking myself), Gahan House is a restaurant as well as a pub. We settled on Gahan House as everyone knows how to get there as it is in the Convention Center in downtown Halifax. The plan is networking, not a formal round-table discussion. We will of course tell the staff to redirect anyone to our table who is here for this event but we just called Gahan House and there won't likely be a need for a reservation.
The idea for the Burger Week evening out came from the success of a spin-off night at the Lower Deck for cyber-security professionals that we planned around ATLSECCON, so we figured we would open the next one up to the MeetUp group so anyone can attend. Apologies for the cancellation of chess night. There was a last-minute health issue but it was resolved.
A bit about the group:
Some geopolitics professionals with a lull in their workload decided to start a discussion group for people in relevant careers looking to network and chat about International Relations topics. We are: a former journalist for Voice of America, a former Canadian Army medic who worked for a Silicon Valley firm, and a currently serving Canadian military officer.
The meetings have been a huge success, with people present from the Canadian military, and five continents!
