Nordic Walking is an ideal choice of activity to achieve sustainable weight loss. In fact, many participants swear that Nordic Walking is the best walking exercise for losing weight! It burns up to 40% more calories than regular walking.

Nordic Walking uses all the major muscle groups resulting in greater calorie consumption and less perceived effort by the participant. This makes Nordic Walking a more effective method of walking to lose weight than regular walking, or even jogging. Because Nordic Walking can be social, uses trendy but simple sports equipment and is performed outdoors, it is an activity many typically exercise-avoidant people enjoy doing regularly.

Classes are held regularly in the from spring to late fall.


Dress for the weather; we will be inside and out. Wear good walking shoes.


We endeavor to start all classes on time. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to class start time to complete the registration form.


Nordic Pole Walking “loaner” poles will be available for those who do not own Nordic Pole Walking poles so you can try Canada’s fastest growing adult fitness activity. Note: Proper Nordic style walking poles have a thumb-hole, cradle hand strap. Genuine Nordixx Nordic Walking Poles will be available for purchase after the class.
