Kirk Jockell is an Amazon best-selling author and the creator of The Nigel Logan Action Series (ten books and growing). He hails from Port St. Joe, the somewhat sleepy coastal town on Florida’s Forgotten Coast that isn’t very forgotten anymore. If they end up needing to add a third traffic light, he’s moving.
Not knowing anything about the business or craft, he self-published the first book in his Tales from Stool Seventeen Trilogy, Finding Port St. Joe in 2015 and continued by releasing Trouble in Tate’s Hell and Dark Days of Judgment to round out the series. He never intended to write beyond that, but as fate would have it, his newfound readership encouraged him to NOT STOP and KEEP WRITING. He’s been learning the trade ever since.
Kirk studied business technologies, earning his bachelor’s degree from St. Leo University, and went on to earn a master’s degree in public administration at Troy University. However, despite the formal degrees, he credits the majority of his education to his career in the United States Navy, where he retired as a senior chief after twenty-three years.
Kirk is a sailor, enjoying his 1991 Catalina 34, JoyRide. He loves to race sailboats, read, fish, throw his cast net for mullet, listen to music (pop country doesn’t count), play his guitar, and drive his Bronco on the beach.
Kirk lives with his lovely wife Joy, a rescued bluetick Apalachicola coonhound named Nate, and a tuxedo cat named Mr. Hemingway.
