Blockchain as a Service - Reality or Dream? @ Microsoft

As Shawn had to cancel is flight due to personal reasons, a colleague of Shawn, Michael Platt, will join us and will give an amazing talk!

Michael will cover an introduction to block chain, the opportunities around block chain and some of the issues in building block chain solutions. He will also briefly cover Microsoft's roadmap and talk about the huge opportunities that exist on the block chain platform. Finally he will do an in depth code walkthrough of a real world block chain application using block chain as a service.

Who is Michael Platt?

As a Principle Engineer in the Microsoft Partner Catalyst Team based in Redmond, Washington, Michael Platt architects, designs, develops and codes leading edge and innovative open source systems which showcase Microsoft Platforms, Technologies and Services. He works with a number of forward thinking organizations, startups and technology providers to build solutions in areas such as automotive, fitness, finance, heath, government, utilites industry and sports using technologies such as IOT, cloud computing, big data, machine learning, analytics and Block Chain.

Michael is involved in a wide range of strategic projects with a number of organizations and partners. He is interested in hardware and sensors, the collection, storage and protection of data and app using Block Chain and the use of machine learning, analysis and display for business. Presently he is working on Block Chain for Attestation and IOT with partners in the certification and Utilities verticals

Join our first Blockchain Meetup ever! To start with, we are happy to welcome Shawn Cicoria, who is Software Engineer @Microsoft in NY and passionate expert in Blockchain ( https://twitter.com/cicorias?lang=de).

He will cover some of Microsoft's roadmap and talk about the huge opportunities that exist between the blockchain platform, such as Ethereum, quorum and running real applications beyond simple ledgers. He will also cover the common architecture that Microsoft ended up doing on just about every blockchain app.

Everyone is welcome, from seasoned programmer to those who want to get first insights into Blockchain. A general basic understanding is helpful, though.

#Netlight Consulting Hamburg will kindly host this event in their office in Hamburg, Holzdamm 14. Drinks will be available, as well as snacks and pizza.

We will start at 6:30 pm with some networking, then Shawn will start until 8(ish) pm - followed by some Q+A and networking!
