Around Schneverdingen (30 km / hard)

Dear hikers, who of you would have guessed that you have to cover 30 km if you want to make a nice tour that leads in a whole loop around the town of Schneverdingen? And what amazes me even more, it is absolutely worth the effort, because the path leads through a great variety of landscapes and nature reserves that are as diverse as their names: Graffelbruch, Seemoor und Schwarzes Moor, Höpen, Camp Reinsehlen, Osterheide and Pietzmoor. Recommended if you feel prepared for the distance!

Please bring food and drinks as you need them for the day and bear in mind when choosing your trousers that we may walk through high grass in places. If a day with lot of rain is expected, the event will be cancelled in good time, at the latest by Friday noon.

We meet at Hamburg Hbf on platform 13, section E, below the sign 'E', at 9:25 and take the train RB41 in the direction of Bremen at 9:37. The train usually departs from platform 13, but check the displays for any changes on Saturday. We have to change trains in Buchholz and will arrive at our starting point, Scheverdingen station, at 10:41. For the return trip to Hamburg we will most likely use the train from Schneverdingen at 18:17 and arrive in Hamburg at 19:26. The trip is covered by the Deutschlandticket. Without D-Ticket buying a 5-ring HVV day ticket is the best option.

Please play nice and only sign up if your are 100% sure that you will join! Unreliable people (no show or late cancellation) may be excluded from future events with limited capacity. Repeat offenders will be banned from the group.

As always, this is a free event, but voluntary donations are welcome and help me cover the costs of running the group. Nobody is expected to give, only do so if you can afford it and would like to. Look out for the violet donation box toward the end of the hike.
