hike from malente-gremsmühlen to plön and plöner see, sa, 16.08.25 [18 km, easy]

today i'd like to take you on a hike from malente-gremsmühlen to plön and plöner see. at a good 28 km², plöner see is the largest lake in schleswig-holstein and the tenth-largest lake in germany.

we'll start in malente-gremsmühlen and visit a historic watermill. then we will hike along the lakeshore at dieksee and behler see to reach the plöner see.

in plön we will visit the prinzeninsel and then have a walk to wonderful plön castle. from there, you'll have a magnificent view of plön and plöner see.

if you have the appropriate qualifications, you might be able to apply. there are currently vacancies at the castle – as a king or queen, or as a prince or princess. if you'd like to apply, please join me on this hike today.

we'll meet at hamburg central station at 8:45 a.m. and take the train from there to lübeck. there, we will change trains and continue to malente-gremsmühlen.

the destination is plön castle in plön, which is just a few minutes away from the train station. from there, you can decide whether to return by train or end the evening in plön's historic old town.

trains back to hamburg run every 30 minutes.

the tour is about 18 - 20 km long. we'll take a nice break along the way.
