Dear hikers, perhaps some of you, like me, feel the need for a little exercise after the indulgent Christmas season and would like to end the hiking year with a Baltic Sea hike? This is the plan I came up with for Sunday: Going by train to Travemünde, cross the Trave river by ferry, circumnavigate the Priwall peninsula, follow up with a loop through Mecklenburg-Vorpommern hinterland before returning on the nature beach of the Baltic Sea to Travemünde. Easy & fun 😎

If you want to join, please bring your own food and drinks as there are no options to stock up during the hike. Sturdy shoes and clothes that will keep you warm for five hours outside are recommended.

We'll meet at 8:55 at Hamburg Hbf on platform 5, section B, below the sign 'B' and take the train RE8 in the direction of Lübeck at 9:06. The train usually departs from platform 6 A-C, but check the displays for any changes on Thursday. After changing trains in Lübeck, we reach the starting point of our hike, the Travemünde-Hafen station, at 10:23. For the return trip we will use the train from Travemünde-Strand either at 15:34 or 16:34, bringing us back to Hamburg at 16:54 or 17:53. For people who do not own a Deutschland-Ticket, a Schleswig-Holstein-Ticket is the best option for the trip. If you're interesting in sharing a group ticket, please use the event chat for your arrangements.

Please play nice and only sign up if your are 100% sure that you will join! Unreliable people (no show or late cancellation) may be excluded from future events with limited capacity. Repeat offenders will be banned from the group.

As always, this is a free event, but voluntary donations are welcome and help me cover the costs of running the group. Nobody is expected to give, only do so if you can afford it and would like to. Look out for the violet donation box toward the end of the hike.
