Through Upper Wümme-Lowlands (28 km / hard)

Moin, dear hikers! Let's go on this highly recommended (by me 😅) nature hike in an area that seems to get often mistakenly overlooked. Starting from Tostedt station, we'll first explore the forested area of Otterberg mountain. Later we'll cross the Obere Wümmeniederung (Upper Wümme-Lowlands) nature reserve and finish by hiking through Heidemoor, Kamper Heide and Dröge Heide forests, ending at Handeloh station. Please be prepared for the respectable distance and bring your own food and drinks as needed for the day.

We'll meet at 9:05 at Hamburg Hbf on platform 13, section B, below the sign 'B' and take the train RE4 into the direction of Bremen at 9:15, to Tostedt, where our hike begins. The train usually departs from platform 13 A-C, but check the displays for any changes on Saturday. For the return trip we will take the train from Handeloh at 17:29 and should be back in Hamburg at 18:25. The tickets are covered by Deutschland-Ticket. For people who do not own a Deutschland-Ticket, it's best to buy a 5-ring HVV day ticket.

Please play nice and only sign up if your are 100% sure that you will join! Unreliable people (no show or late cancellation) may be excluded from future events with limited capacity. Repeat offenders will be banned from the group.

As always, this is a free event, but voluntary donations are welcome and help me cover the costs of running the group. Nobody is expected to give, only do so if you can afford it and would like to. Look out for the violet donation box toward the end of the hike.
