Moin, dear Hikers, all signs indicate that summer will finally arrive next weekend. Therefore, I will set off on Saturday to undertake an extended hike on Germany's northernmost island, Sylt. Who wants to come along? The planned tour starts from the Morsum train station with a round trip to the Morsum Cliff. Afterwards we continue along the mudflat side of the island, always along the coast to Kampen. And from there, after climbing Sylt's highest dune, over the Red Cliff and along the beach to Westerland, the end point of the hike.

If you come along, please bring everything you want to eat and drink for the day, including the return journey. Sunscreen and sunglasses are a good idea and bear in mind that on Sylt, even in sunshine, the temperature is some degrees lower than in Hamburg. If there is little wind, making a long break on the beach pleasant, there will be an opportunity for the brave to swim in the North Sea. We may have to pay a beach fee of 4€, so please bring coins.

We meet at Hamburg-Altona station at 7:55 on platform 8, section B, and enter the second first car at the head of the train as soon as the train arrives. The train RE6x in the direction of Westerland usually departs from platform 8 at 8:09 am, but check the displays for any changes on Saturday. Return to Hamburg is expected to be at 21:29 with start from Westerland at 18:49. For people don't owning a Deutschland-Ticket buying a Schleswig-Holstein-Ticket is the best option.

Please play nice and only sign up if your are 100% sure that you will join! Unreliable people (no show or late cancellation) may be excluded from future events with limited capacity. Repeat offenders will be banned from the group.

As always, this is a free event, but voluntary donations are welcome and help me cover the costs of running the group. Nobody is expected to give, only do so if you can afford it and would like to. Look out for the violet donation box toward the end of the hike.
