The agenda for this meetup is:

18.30 Open Doors
18.50 Welcome / AOB
19.00 "Relational data models with the dm package" - Kirill Müller (cynkra)
19.45 Break
20:00 Meet the Expert: Kirill Müller
20.30 Cool down Beer

At this meetup Kirill Müller will present his new dm package, which is briefly described below.

** Relational data models with the dm package - Kirill Müller (cynkra)
Kirill will present {dm}, a new package that facilitates working with multiple tables. Three principal use cases can be identified: consuming a data model, building in-memory or local data models without relying on relational databases, and preparing consistent relational data models for consumption by others. Based on these use cases, he outlines the features of this package and discusses future development. The presentation will be interactive with live coding and a script that attendants can run during or after the presentation. The package is available on GitHub at https://krlmlr.github.io/dm.

About the speaker: Kirill works on the boundary between data and computer science with more than 20 years of software engineering experience. He enjoys working with and contributing to the R ecosystem since 2012. In 2018 he joined forces with Christoph Sax to found cynkra, a Zurich-based consultancy that helps businesses and government institutions better understand their valuable data and communicate the insights, with a focus on the R ecosystem. https://cynkra.com
