Azure Databricks & SQL Server 2022

Details

In cooperation with Microsoft Data Platform Community Hamburg and Azure Meetup Hamburg tonight we'd like to join the PASS Community with an on-site meeting at the new Microsoft Office in Hamburg.
As an in-person meeting we need to monitor attendees, so please register on https://www.meetup.com/de-DE/hamburger-ms-sql-server-usergroup-by-pass-deutschland-e-v/events/288667945/ to join this event. So you cannot register via Hamburger Technology Meetup for this event!
The event published here at the Hamburger Technology Meetup group is to get your attention if you play around using Databrick and/or SQL Server-like resources on Microsoft Azure.
And we'll start right off with one of your biggest wishes: Azure Databricks. In second place was news about SQL Server 2022. We also follow that!
So, we will meet again on 20.10.2022 at the Microsoft Office Hamburg.

News about SQL Server 2022 - Sascha Lorenz
To make a long story short. SQL Server 2022 is another great update of an excellent product. In this talk, we will primarily focus on the promises regarding performance and scalability. The topics will include Parameter Sensitive Plan (PSP) optimization and QueryStore.
About Sascha.
He has been working with Microsoft SQL Server and the efficient automation of database-related tasks for several decades. Still having a developer soul, he is now responsible for the development of the PSG tool stack, which his colleagues and customers use to analyze and optimize database servers around the world. Furthermore, he still shares his experience and knowledge in numerous workshops and training as well as at community events.

Analyzing UFO sightings with (Azure) Databricks - Ken Knütel
From raw data inside a cloud storage to production ready machine learning model. Databricks promises to do it all. Do they deliver? And how does Databricks compare to their competitors? I share my honest experience and insights on Databricks while doing a live demo on a very serious and practical matter.
About Ken.
I am a Senior Associate within the data science and machine learning guild at Bain & Company. Prior I worked as a data scientist at Lufthansa Technik and an engineering startup. The data science team at the startup was a one man army and databricks helped me manage various aspects like database administration, data engineering, and machine learning.
