Handel & Vivaldi by Mercury Orchestra

Details
Celebrate a milestone as Mercury launches its 25th season with a captivating performance at Miller Outdoor Theatre.
Handel’s Water Music, composed in 1717 for King George I of England, has enchanted audiences for centuries and remains one of the most popular pieces of the Baroque repertoire. Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, equally as recognizable, celebrates the 300th anniversary of its publication in 2025. To commemorate this special occasion, the program will conclude with an exhilarating finale of Summer.
HOW TO FIND THE HOST:
Let's gather by the steps near the picnic table area in between the picnic table area and the theater (look for the Meetup sign). The picnic table area is on the left side of the theater as you are looking at the stage.
If you are planning to attend the concert, but do not intend to join the group, please do not rsvp yes to this event. It falsely enlarges the number of attendees and jeopardizes your membership with the group.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
We will be enjoying a concert performance at an outdoor theater.
WHAT TO BRING:
We will be sitting in the bring-your-own-chair section on a grassy hill. Please bring a camping chair or blanket/beach towel to sit on. Bug spray is also recommended. Picnics are welcome. No glass containers allowed. (This is a city park policy ... no one will check on the grassy hill.)
Food/beverage concessions and public restrooms are available.
WHAT IS ADMISSION:
Admission is always free. No tickets are required to sit on the grassy hill.
WHERE IS PARKING:
Complimentary surface lot parking is available in Hermann Park. On the Hermann Park map, the main parking lot is designated by the letter C. The parking lot entrances are at Hermann and Crawford as well as Hermann and Jackson. There is also complimentary surface lot parking available at the HMNS Main Entrance and the Houston Zoo Main Entrance. Limited handicapped only parking is available in Parking Lot D behind the theater.
For GPS users, please consider even though the theater has a street address, it is located in the center of a public park. Therefore, the parking areas are not directly adjacent to the theater. In order to avoid any stress, please review the map of Hermann Park and allow plenty of time to arrive.
