Vibing with Replit, How to Use AI to Create a Website

AI is changing how websites and applications are built. You no longer need to be an experienced developer to turn an idea into something functional.

In this hands-on session, we will explore Replit, an AI-powered development platform that allows you to describe what you want to build and work with AI to create it.

We will start with the basics, including what Replit is, how to create an account, and how to get your first project running. From there, we will explore what is possible when you start connecting your application to other services and tools.
Topics will include:

• Creating and designing a website using AI
• Building pages, forms, pricing pages, etc
• Connecting to external APIs and services
• A look at using MCPs and other integrations to extend what your application can do
• Sending emails and triggering actions from your website
• Working with databases and information collected through your site
• Iterating with AI to fix problems, add features and improve your design
• Understanding what AI can do for you, and where you still need to provide direction

The session will include a practical walkthrough of building a real website with Replit, including some of the lessons, mistakes and discoveries that happen along the way.

Bring your laptop if you want to follow along. We will leave time for attendees to create a Replit account, experiment with AI coding and start building something themselves.

No coding experience is required. If you can describe what you want to build, you can participate.
