Dungeon of the Mad Mage
Details
The party is 15th level. We are doing part of the Dungeon of the Mad Mage. The games are in my dining room and I have a very excited, over friendly dog who loves to be involved.
The heroes explore the east wing of Shadowdusk Hold. They find Mellissara Shadowdusk, who begs them to free her from her cousins, Dezmyr and Zalthar who dwell on the third level and have a dracolich ally. She also has other cousins on the 2nd level, Verlain, Bertrand and Cassiok. They find a map of the first two levels of Shadowdusk Hold and a fountain shaped like an aboleth. Exploring the west wing they find some sort of alien nest and a shrine to Torm. Deciding to head down the second level they enter a room full of nothics. Sophia talks to the nothics, but one of them decides to leave the room. Lucky Tarumm follows and assassinates the nothic only to be ambushed himself. He runs back to join the party and is chased by four slaad who fireball everybody. Powerful magical blows are exchanged, while Kasmut hides in the corner and heals his comrades. Two of the slaad flee the scene. The heroes decide to regroup and rest in goblin town, but something goes awry and they end up in a huge flagstone passage, empty, quiet and clean with a huge set of metal doors on the wall before them. Lucky attempts to open the doors and then they hear loud repetetive thuds growing louder.
