Open the new year with the best habit you can start for yourself in 2026: a meditation practice!
If you've always wanted to learn more about meditation or to instil a fun, social way to incorporate meditation into your routine, or you have been a part of Hamilton's Well for ages but have been too shy to come out for an event: this special event to ring in 2026 (literally! We start our meditations with bells!) is for you.
5:30 pm - 5:45 pm: Newcomers and oldcomers alike will gather and snack on delicious snacks! (If you have strong opinions on what snacks should be offered, please get in touch with Susie, an organizer in this group.)
5:45 pm - 6 pm: While we continue to snack, some of the more seasoned members will share about the benefits of meditation and their experiences with meditation including tips on how to get started.
6 pm - 6:15 pm: We will sit for a 10 minute, simple silent meditation.
6:15 pm - 6:30 pm: The floor will be opened so that people have a chance to share about what it was like to sit in silence for 10 minutes.
Then, those of us feeling rowdy will, as always, head to Farside for a beer/non-alcoholic beverage or two. Please note that Farside only takes cash and Canadian debit!
Please try to RSVP 24 hours prior to the event so we can have enough snacks for everyone!
