Donner Rim Trail too Summit Lake

Being in Tahoe Donner we ride the perimeter trail too the Donner Rim Trail. Donner Rim gradually climbs ( 6 miles) up above Donner Lake, including stunning views of the lake. Once we reach Drifter Hut for a brief break, we do a stunning descend into Johnson Canyon thru a beautiful fern forest. We leave the Canyon and begin another climb up too Summit Lake. Here we enjoys views,snacks and fluids. We return thru Johnson Canyon too Drfiter Hut . We then make out way too the highest point of Tahoe donner...Hawks Peak. Enjoy views and then finally descend too Alder Creek Cafe for Beer and Lunch
