Sly Park - Jenkinson Lake and Trail 8 (intermediate)

Intermediate ride for about 14-18 miles total (start w/ a counter-clockwise Jenkinson Lake loop followed by a Fleming Meadow/ Trail 8 look) with about 2,000-2,500 feet climing. Recommend well-tuned and fully charged emtb for this one as a few of the climbs will wipe you otherwise.
Wheels up at 10:00am, meet between 9:40-9:50 at the trailhead from the parking lot (the "Waterfall Trailhead") off Mormon Emigrant Trail... PC7R+FC, Pollock Pines, CA 95684.
Both trails are rated Blue, so not for beginners, but not hard if you go at a reserved pace (the trail right around the lake always gets me, though). Trail 8, to me, is just fun, but you climb and climb and climb before hitting the downill (almost 8 miles... hence the name, Trail 8).

I usually park on Mormon Emigrant Trail to avoid parking fees, but you can park in the lot at the trailhead for something like $5.
For those wanting to carpool, let's meet at the Starbucks in the Safeway parking lot off Prairie City Rd in Folsom at 8:30-8:40 (gone at 8:40!). It's almost an hour from there to the ride.

After the ride, we can head to Hwy 50 Brewery/ Nello Olivo Winery in Camino (directly off Hwy 50 at 3544 Carson Rd #20, Camino, CA 95709) for lunch, drinks and live music.
