Sunday Funday @ Lake Natoma (Intermediate+ Riders)
Details
Please note the new ride start location below.
This is a new recurring listing for this intermediate+ ride. THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER RIDE.
One or more of us may show up each week to lead. There may be some weeks when we are all unavailable, in which case attendees can sort out a leader or we may cancel.
YOU MUST SIGN UP TO THIS RIDE TO ATTEND
Join us for a fun and challenging 12 - 13 mile ride at a pace of about 8 - 12 mph over lots of rock gardens, granite slabs, and single track full of ruts and tall weeds/grass here and there. Routes and distance change weekly depending on group turnout. Most technical features have go arounds but it’s your responsibility to ride within your abilities and keep up with the group so as not to cause unreasonable delays and disruption to the stated pace/flow of the ride.
We'll have regroups to catch your breath and to provide further direction and guidance, so pls be listening and ready to roll out again when needed.
BRING:
*Well tuned mountain bike (no gravel or hybrids),
*Helmet, water, fix-a-flat stuff, first aid, and positive attitude!
*Post ride bevs or snacks for yourself or to share & chair (optional)
FOR GROUP RIDING AWARENESS:
*RSVP in advance so we can pre-plan our routes according to turnout.
*Be sure you meet req'd skill/fitness levels before RSVPing to this ride.
*Guests must meet skill and fitness requirements of this ride.
*You are responsible for your own safety and riding abilities.
*If you peel off early, let someone in the group know before doing so.
*If we have a big group, be prepared to help lead a smaller subgroup.
*Trails can be loose in turns when dry, so ride with caution!
*Allow reasonable space between riders esp thru tech sections.
*Stronger, more skilled riders should ride towards the front of pack.
*Slower, less skilled riders should ride mid to back of the pack.
*Always let the rider behind you know which way the group is turning.
*Be sure you can handle riding in hot temps during summer months.
*Poison Oak is everywhere, so no touchy touchy.
