eMTB Ride - Acorn to Darrington
Details
Meet at 8:45 AM at the Acorn Creek Parking Area just up the road from the Salmon Falls Bridge. Roll out at 9 AM sharp.
Note: There is a $5 parking fee that you can pay in advance on the American River Conservancy web site. I have no idea whether it's enforced, but highly recommend paying, as it supports maintenance and operation of this trail network.
This ride will be about 22 miles with 2,500 feet of climbing. This is an intermediate level ride with some relatively technical rocky sections and one long chunky climb.
A full power eMTB with at least 625 WH of battery capacity is recommended.
This route starts from the Acorn Creek parking area off Salmon Falls road. We will take the trail that follows a culvert under Salmon Falls Road to the Salmon Falls Ranch area, where there are several trails (Sidewinder, Highline, Chapparal, …). It then connects to Darrington. We'll climb up Flagstaff, zip down Salmon Falls Road to the Campground, and return via Darrington.
It looks like it will be unseasonably warm on Tuesday, so be sure to carry plenty of water, electrolytes, snacks, etc.
