Our makerspace team will be doing daily DIY cosplay & prop demos at the HammerSpace Workshop booth at PLANET ANIME KC (located at the Kansas City Convention Center) Friday, Aug 21st through Sunday, Aug 23rd, 2026.

FRIDAY, AUG 21ST (3-8pm)
4:00PM – Pewter Casting
Learn how to cast custom items such as coins & dagger parts in pewter using laser-cut MDF molds (45 mins)

11:00AM - Light Effects for Cosplay & Props
Learn about integrating battery powered lighting effects into your costumes & props. We will go over several different lighting options and how to power them discreetly. Q&A at the end of the demo. (30-45mins)
2:00PM - Painting & Texture Techniques For Props
Learn a few quick texture painting techniques that should work on 3D printed, cast, or foam parts. We'll cover dry brushing, washes, and air brushing to add textures to cosplay props. (45 mins)
5:00PM - Light Effects for Cosplay & Props:
Learn about integrating battery powered lighting effects into your costumes & props. We will go over several different lighting options and how to power them discreetly. Q&A at the end of the demo. (30-45mins)
