Join us Wednesday, December 17th, from 5:30 PM to 7 PM at Bellingham Makerspace as Brian Parks leads a discussion of "what does it mean to 'use' Linux, anyway?"

Back when BLUG started, the idea of "using" Linux had a few very specific meanings. But now that Linux is practically everywhere, is everyone a Linux user? This is a question that's been nagging at me (Brian) since we started BLUG back up again and I want to hear your thoughts! I'll have a few slides where I share a brief history of Linux usage and talk about what I think distinguishes Linux Users from non-Linux users (if there is even such a thing), but most of the time will be conversation and discussion. Bring your Linux usage stories and be prepared to share!

Each BLUG meetup will be in three parts:

  • the first half hour will be arrival and community support. Need help installing some app or flavor of Linux? Make sure to show up early and partake in the wisdom from some of our more experienced members.
  • After that, we will have guest sessions. Do you have ideas on what you would like to present or want to present yourself? Let us know!
  • After the presentations are done, we will have a general social time to get to know each other and to collaborate on new things.
