Decoupled Data Journeys with Apache Kafka and SAP HANA Cloud

In the rapidly evolving field of data management and processing, the transition from traditional, static database structures to real-time, dynamic, event-driven architectures marks a paradigm-shift. This talk addresses this transformative journey, highlighting the limitations of traditional databases and the emergence of "event thinking." At the center of this evolution is Apache Kafka, a powerful event streaming platform that has become a key element of modern data strategies. We will explore Lambda and Kappa architectures, highlighting how Kafka fits seamlessly into both, providing flexibility and real-time processing with a focus on SAP ERP enterprise system landscapes. Practical use cases, such as integrating the SaaS platforms, will conclude this talk.
