Your next adventure is in reach. Just grab a bike and ride. Yes, any bike. The one in garage will work. We will talk about how to take an existing bike and optimize it for a spirited jaunt on two wheels. It doesn't need to be a big journey, either. Sometimes the everyday commute or day off trip to the other side of town can be a wholesome way to find your bearings and reset. No need to schedule time off work or hassle with logistical rabbitholes. It can be as short as a couple of hours to break out of the grind and recharge.
In this class we will discuss the basics and overlaps of bike packing, bike touring, and commuting, and the differences between the disciplines. Beginning with the bike. What makes a reliable ride, carrying gear and essentials like water, and other creature comforts like tires, fenders, racks and bags, lights and more. This is a recurring class reprising our Bike Packing Class, every other Wednesday for the Fall season. Questions are welcome and encouraged. Topics will vary depending on customer interest so stay tuned for updates. Upcoming topics will include, but not limited to, planning for bigger and multi-day rides, camping basics and choosing practical gear. Attendees come as you are, with curiosity. A notebook is handy.
