This is a three hour hike for six to seven miles. Anyone is welcome to join us for part of the hike if they do not wish to go the full distance.

This hike is NOT for beginners. Cold Spring Harbor is, by the most strenuous hike on Long Island. Please do not RSVP unless you are physically capable of hiking this difficult terrain.

The Cold Spring Harbor sections of the LI Greenbelt trail are regarded as the most difficult on Long Island. Rightly so. The hills are steep and many in both directions.

Check within an hour before the event for cancellations due to weather.

Remember to wear appropriate footwear and bring hiking poles, food and water as needed.

Directions to Cold Spring Harbor State Park:
The park is on the south side of 25-A, less than a quarter of a mile north of the Harbor Mist Restaurant. From the south, you can access 25-A from Route 108 or Cold Spring Harbor Road.

This event is listed on more than one group, attendee list on this group will not include everyone.

This is an event organized for our friends to get together and socialize. We are not professional hikers or professional organizers. You are welcome to join us but before you attend you must familiarize yourself with the risks associated with this type of activity.

Liability Waiver: Hiking or outdoor activities have inherent risks. Your participation in our hikes or other events could be dangerous and can result in serious injury, medical emergency, even death. It is your responsibility to learn the trails and to follow the group so you do not get detached from the group. Make yourself aware of your surroundings and trail conditions at all times. You agree to participate in these events completely at your own risk and to take full responsibility for your own safety and well being, including those of your guests. You agree not to hold the Organizer, Co-Organizer, Assistant Organizers, Event Organizer, Event Hosts, Hike Leader or any other members responsible for any injuries, mishaps, or any other situation that may happen at a planned event. Your attendance at the event signifies that you have read and accept the terms of this liability waiver.
