United Way home walk 2014

Happily Hiking has joined up with San Pedro Fit and Socks for Souls to get a team together for this event. Save the date.
What does San Pedro do best -- help others in our community! Please join Happily Hiking, San Pedro Fit and Socks for Souls, Inc. help end homelessness in Los Angeles County. How? It's simple, join our HomeWalk 2014 team! United Way's HomeWalk is a fun, family-oriented event that inspires and brings communities together for a common goal. It is an easy 5k walk (or run) in a safe environment. It's a win-win, get in some excerise while helping a cause :). Even better, helping out doesn't have to be expensive. This year, United Way's HomeWalk is offering free registration for walkers. (There is a small fee, if you choose to run). Each team or individual participant is encouraged collect donations for the cause.

For our team, it will bring us extreme joy if each member donates $20. Our team goal is $500.00. However, if you can't afford $20, don't get discouraged. We want you to come out and enjoy friendship and the cause, donate as little as $5. After all, every dollar counts and EVERY dollar donated will be matched by the Hilton family. Besides, Happy Fit Souls, is going the extra mile and offering an additional opportunity to help by donating to NEW socks and underwear for women and children to Socks for Souls, Inc. This collection will be distributed on behalf of our team to San Pedro facilities that help those in need -- Harbor Interfaith and Rainbow Services Collection of NEW socks and underwear will be done the morning of the event (November 15, 2014)..

Donations to HomeWalk and to Socks for Souls, Inc. are eligible for tax deduction. United Way will generate a donation receipt once you donate and Socks for Souls, Inc. will have receipts available the morning of the walk. Come out and enjoy the fun! You might even get to meet Kobe! To register: Join our team, "Happy Fit Souls." You will create an individual registration form under our team.
