Crafting and Writing to Wellness: Crafting Asian Poetry and Form

Details
We will listen to poetry, letting its rhythms awaken our hearts, and explore the rich world of Asian poetic forms—Haiku, Haibun, Renga, Choka. With curious writing prompts, we'll dive into questions that invite discovery or release, guiding us through nature, gratitude, and self-acceptance. Each poem we craft becomes a reflection of our unique and shared paths. Through collaborative Renga, our voices weave into one, while our individual stories find their place. Then, we take the mic—sharing our words, embracing the power of expression and the freedom of release, as inspiration, process, and community unite.
In this workshop, we will explore various Asian poetic forms as tools for personal expression and wellness. Facilitator Nzima, Poet Laureate and best-selling author, will guide participants in creating poems that reflect gratitude for nature and positive self-love affirmations.
