Backpacking Class Basic 101./-- hike. overnight

Details
I will be bringing my backpack and showing how I get ready and the things you need to bring. if someone has a Hammock and would like to take part your welcome to join in. mind you folks . I'm not a pro . I hope to show different ways of setting up camp. talk about the foods you can bring and cooking systems. and like that. ok.
The Hike: This relatively easy hike begins along the West Fork of the San Gabriel River. The backpackers will be led by Linus starting at 7:30. The campground is about 2 miles in. where we will hold the class. now if you want to camp there overnight as well you can. There are multiple stream crossings - you may get wet!
NO OPEN FIRES ALLOWED - A PERMIT IS REQUIRED FOR CAMPSTOVES.
The permit is free and may be obtained online at:

This event is posted on two Meetup groups - If you are a member of both, please sign up on only one as space is limited.
Directions: the "place" (Bear Creek Trailhead) above is not accurate - it only gets you on the right mountain road. Drive north on Azusa Ave (Highway 39) in Azusa into the Angeles National Forest to Forest Route 2N25 – it is on your left about 12 miles from Ninth St. in Azusa (about 1.5 miles past the East Fork turn off to the Bridge to Nowhere). If you use Google Maps and enter "West Fork Fishing Access Fishing Site" it will take you right to Forest Route 2N25. Just before you cross a bridge, you will see the Off Highway Vehicle staging area (ORV) on your right and shortly after that you will see a parking area on your right just before you get to Forest Route 2N25. There will be another small parking area on your left just before the gate to 2N25. Continue across the bridge to a fairly large parking area on your left. This is where you will meet Linus to begin the hike at 7:30 AM. All parking areas have pit toilets. An Adventure Pass is required. Carpooling is encouraged. Carpooling can be arranged by leaving a comment that you are willing to drive or looking for a ride. Replies can be made by sending a message to the person on their profile. Do not post your phone number in the comments. We believe the Ninth St. (our usual carpooling meeting place when hiking in this area) is now restricted to 3 hours.
What to Bring: Backpacking gear! If you have any questions on what to bring - send a message to Linus or post a comment.
