HAPPY NEW YEARS SO CAL HAPPY HOUR HIKERS!

THE MOUNT WILSON TRAIL IS OPEN!!
WHAT A PERFECT WAY TO KICK OFF THE FIRST HIKE OF THE NEW YEAR FOR OUR STRONG INTERMEDIATE HIKERS!!!

RAIN CANCELS HIKE!!!!

I am so excited to hike this trail again. Hopefully everything did not burn down. Expect some minor detours.

Here is the plan:
We will hike on the Mt Wilson trail then take a minor detour on Charlie's trail before making our way to Orchard Camp.

On the return, we will take a short cut trail to First Water. There should be a nice stream flowing. We also check out the old gauging water tower and hopefully I will find some cool mushrooms!

There will be some stream crossings so be prepared to get your feet wet. Bring and extra pair of socks or wear gaiters. Poles may be helpful with stream crossings.

This will be sort of a lollipop hike.

Stats:
distance- 7 miles
gain- 2000' (approx)
level- strong intermediate. NO BEGINNERS PLEASE!
parking- free
Please respect parking signs: make sure tires are turned towards the curb or the city will give you a ticket. Also be mindful of the residents and keep your voices at a low volume until we get on the trail.
bathroom-available by the museum.

WHAT TO BRING: A POSITIVE ATTITUDE: !!!
Energy snacks, at least 3 liters of water, electrolytes, sunscreen, hiking boots with good tread, hiking poles, and the
