>>>>TEMPS OVER 90 CANCELS<<<<
Monday, May 26, is Memorial Day.
..
This is two nights of free, dispersed car camping at Trona Pinnacles.
The pinnacles are a highly unique geological feature in the California Desert Conservation Area. These tufa spires rise up to 140 feet from the dry lakebed. The landscape is so out of the world, the original Planet of the Apes was filmed here.
Dispersed camping is allowed anywhere in this area.
Hike and explore the pinnacles.
Or, do absolutely nothing and just chillax at camp and enjoy the lunar-like landscape.
Make sure you bring plenty of water with you.
Also, please bring some firewood if you have room in your vehicle.
..
>>>>WHERE DO WE MEET?<<<<
We’ll meet at the dirt road entrance located at the intersection of Trona Rd (178) and Pinnacle Rd at 11am. See photos posted below for details.
Use Google Maps for exact location.
If you are arriving late radio us with your walkie talkie from the restroom parking area at Trona Pinnacles so someone can direct you to our campsite.
We’ll be on channel 15, monitoring.
Make sure your privacy codes are OFF.
If you don’t own a set of walkie talkies I highly recommend you purchase a very inexpensive pair on Amazon.
