E-Bikes will be allowed on this trip.
First time bikepackers are welcomed, no one will be left behind.

This is one of our most popular and easiest bikepacking trips due to the mostly flat terrain and the relatively short distance of 20 miles each way.

We’ll all meet by the first restroom indicated on the map. There’s plenty of free, overnight, residential street parking nearby.

The bike ride consists mostly of dedicated bike lanes hugging the entire coastline.

The hiker/biker group campsite at Carpinteria SB costs $10 per person.
There’s no reservation required.
The campground is right on the beach, with fire pits and picnic tables.
They have hot showers and flush toilets. Bring quarters for the showers.

Since the campground is conveniently located smack in the middle of town we can basically set up camp and have our meals in town, so there’s no need to pack your camp stoves and meals. You can bring your stove if you want to brew some coffee in the morning. Otherwise, just pack your tent, sleeping gear, extra layers, and toiletries.
There are all sorts of restaurants and bars all within walking distance from camp.
But if you prefer prepping your meals at camp there’s a Vons and a Smart & Final very close by.

You must wear a helmet and also bring a spare tube.
