With almost 200 first come, first serve campsites, this very popular, high elevation campground is located in the Crystal Lake Recreation Area, high up in the San Gabriel Canyon.

George will cover the cost of one campsite, which is good for up to eight people. You may have to only pay for the extra vehicle fee, which is like 5 bucks, but maybe not, if you have an Adventure Pass.
Overflow parking is at the Windy Gap trailhead, just have your Adventure Pass. Anyway, just bring a little bit of cash with you.

There is a network of hiking trails, including the Windy Gap, around the lake that you can explore on your own.

Campground has picnic tables, fire pits, potable water, and vault toilets.
There’s also a general store and a cafe.

IT’ll BE A COLD NIGHT SO PLEASE BRING SOME FIREWOOD FOR THE CAMPFIRE!!
Firewood will cost you more if you buy at the camp store.

There’s no cell service up here so you might have trouble finding us in this vastly large campground with several loops.
If you own a walkie talkie we’ll be monitoring on channel 15 so you’ll be able to get in touch with us when you reach the campground.

Adventure Pass is required to park in the general overflow parking area.
