Free Car Camp 1 or 2 nights near Mt Pinos!

Reminder: This is an overnight trip. I flag all No Shows, including day before cancellations, so please read the entire description and think twice before signing up.

ESCAPE FROM THE BLISTERING LA HEAT! THIS IS THE TRUTH!
At 8,300 ft elevation CHULA VISTA CAMPGROUND is a FREE campground hidden in a dense pine forest with plenty of shade and cool temperatures.
It has picnic tables, fire pits, and pit toilets.
THERE’S NO WATER SO BRING YOUR OWN SUPPLY.

LUNAH will lead a hike on Saturday morning. This hike is optional.

CHULA VISTA CAMPGROUND is located 193 yards, or a quick 3 minute walk from the Mt Pinos Nordic Base parking lot.
Many folks use yard carts or hand trucks to haul their camping equipment and coolers to the their campsites.

!! PLEASE CARRY OUT YOUR TRASH, DO NOT LEAVE TRASH FOR THE LAST PERSON TO CARRY OUT, THERE’S NO TRASH SERVICE, BRING YOUR OWN TRASH BAGS !!

Arrive anytime, take off anytime!
Campsites are first come, first served, but there are plenty of open spaces, even between campsites, for everyone.

ADVENTURE PASS REQUIRED!

From downtown LA it usually takes just over an hour and a half to reach the Mt Pinos parking lot, plus the 3 minute walk to the campground. :))
