Excerpt: Jesus’s Teaching on Love and Its Limitations
Jesus’s Original Plan
Originally, Jesus intended to teach several stages of love and guide people to a certain level of enlightenment. However, his enemies appeared much earlier than expected. Resolving the conflict with his persecutors became his biggest challenge. He had to mainly teach of the love that negates evil within a dualistic way of thinking.

Jesus said: “What reward will you gain by praying for those who love you? Even people of other religions do this. If you have truly studied my teachings, you should pray for those who persecute you, or try to kill you, not only for those who support you.”

Thus Jesus emphasized “love your enemies” in his teachings of “love for your neighbors” and “love for the Lord God.” Unfortunately, his life was cut short before he could teach the next stage.

What were the stages of love that Jesus truly wished to teach?
Love has stages. Those stages are the goals of our efforts and the path of our soul training.

The direction of our growth:
Level 1: Love for family and friends
Level 2: The Love of teachers and leaders
Level 3: Love that can stop evil, but also forgive
Level 4: Your existence itself is Love
