Join us in the Orlando, FL area for the 34th edition of "Walk Around Florida" (WAF34) - a three-day weekend walking festival sponsored by the Happy Wanderers, Mid-Florida Milers (Orlando) and Suncoast Sandpipers (Tampa) of Central Florida, and AVA: America's Walking Club! We expect over 100 walkers for our events this weekend, participating individually, couples, or small groups.

You may be pre-registered (for brochure - see our website: www.happywanderersfl.org) or register same day (At American Legion Post 10, Kissimmee) and start the walk anytime between 12pm and 2pm, with the event finishing by 5 p.m. A map and written directions will be available at the start, and Checkpoints on the routes provide bathrooms, water and snacks.

Pre-registration packet pick-up and same day registration for the Friday walk are at the American Legion, Post 10 in downtown Kissimmee. 6k and 10k distances are available. Explore the Kissimmee lakefront and downtown area for a 1-hour or 2 hour walk, with a captivating mix of family-owned businesses, shops, restaurants and many colorful murals. Walk the streets of historic Downtown Kissimmee and along the recreational walkway adjacent to Lake Tohopekaliga ("Lake Toho"), through the many parks and open spaces, and past the marina.

Historic Downtown Kissimmee is the largest independently-owned restaurant district in Central Florida, with more than 30 family-owned eating establishments. Enjoy the many fine restaurants and quaint cafes to suit all tastes, as well as the historic buildings around Main and Emmett Streets. Lanier's Downtown Marketplace has 18,000 square feet of antiques.

The walks are AVA-rated 1A and are suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Pets (leashed) are permitted.

The event is $4.00 for all participants 12 and older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. IVV credit will be available for all participants. AVA Special programs are listed in the registration brochure.
