Gemini Springs Park - 5K & 10K Traditional Walks

Join the Happy Wanderers for a wonderful nature walk and cultural visit at Gemini Springs (Volusia County) Park in DeBary, FL. The 5k (3.1 miles) trail remains within the park itself, while the 10k (6.2 miles) trail includes a visit to the neighboring community and the DeBary Hall Historic Site. (Historic buildings & bathrooms on-site there open at 10:00 AM)

This "traditional walk" has an open START WINDOW of between 9:00AM and 10:30 AM from Pavilion #4, near the EAST PARKING Lot. The completion time is prior to 1 p.m. This is NOT a group/guided walk - but if you want to walk with other participants, arrive by 9:00 AM so as to link-up with other walkers attending.

There is a $4 fee for all participants covering administrative costs for the event and for the AVA/IVV event stamp used to sanction/record the event. There is no additional cost for entering the park or parking. Children 12 & under walk for free, but must be accompanied by an adult.

The walks are at your own pace and we provide detailed written instructions, a map, and directional signage on the route itself. Participants walk at their own pace, normally taking about 1 hour for 3 miles (5 kilometers) and 2-2.5 hours for 6.2 miles (10 kilometers). Please check-in at the finish when you return to stamp your books and turn in your start card, so we know you have completed the event.

The walks are rated 1B with both paved and nature trails. The wooded trails have good footing and few obstructions. We recommended closed-toe shoes / sneakers and clothing appropriate to a nature area. Sunscreen is also recommended. Water will be available at the start/finish and at 1 Checkpoint on-site, but we recommend you carry your own water bottle during the event.

Located off I-4 between Orlando and Daytona Beach. From I-4, take Exit 108 toward Deltona/DeBary. Turn RIGHT at bottom of exit lane onto Dirksen Drive for 1.6 miles to entrance of Gemini Springs Park, on your left. Turn LEFT into park, then follow signs for the East Parking Area - LEFT at T and then RIGHT into East Parking. From parking, take sidewalk to Pavilion 4. (follow "Walk Starts Here" signs.)
