What we're about

Happy Writing exists to celebrate the unique power of all authors, writers, and word creators. We uplift, support, educate, and empower global communities through peer mentorship and peer-curated events.

Happy Writing Co helps build better stories and stronger authorpreneurs through guided classes, networking, camaraderie, and group writing.

We offer a mixture of writing sessions, reading/critiquing events, and classes.

Events take place online, in coffee shops, on train trips, during historical walks, in museums, and we're always open to anything new our members suggest!

Our meetings are open to writers of all genres. Come work on your novels, blogs, short stories, memoirs, PhD thesis, or copy for your website.

We have five standing meetings per week. Other social events and inspiration trips will be random (and full of writerly fun).

Weekend Write In: In Person

Schellingstraße 3

We are so excited to continue our partnership with Lost Weekend as our official home for all things face to face.

We will meet every Saturday starting at 11 a.m. for a productivity session. This is not a guided writing session or workshop, but independent co-working on your projects just begging to be written.

You'll be able to find Happy Writing Co at the RSVP section on the stage/front windows.

Here's how the write in works:
11 am - Doors open, take seats, chat and get situated. Introduce yourself to your fellow writers, talk about your projects, celebrate being back in person, etc!
11:20 - Session begins. We will write for 60 minutes.
12:20 - Closing and chat.

We may start a second session afterwards depending on the day!

You are welcome to stay on afterwards, write as long as you want in the café. We're here for the long haul with Lost Weekend and growing in mutual support!

We have a total seating area for 15 people. If you're unable to make the event, please cancel your reservation to allow someone from the wait list in to the event. You are welcome to do a drop in for overflow seating, but priority will be given to those on the RSVP list. If we keep growing, we will expand our RSVP request.

Bayerische Staatsbibliothek tour: German

Bavarian state library

We have been waiting almost a year to bring this event back and we are so excited to offer the tour in English on Monday 23 January, 2023, and German on Monday 6 February, 2023.

Both tours will start at 10 a.m. Because this is a guided tour, late entry to the group will not be permitted.

We can bring up to 20 participants in each group. We will meet at the foot of the grand staircase in the entrace hall. Bags and coats should be put into the lockers before the tour. Please bring 1-2 Euro to do this.

Please note the library is not barrier free and there will be stairs and the elevators will not be used.

The library does recommend wearing an FFP2 mask although it is not required.

First Thursdays: Goal Setting and Accountability for Writers

Online event

Are you struggling with your writing project?
Do you need accountability?
Are you looking to have an open discussion with other authors and writers about what you're struggling with?

Welcome to First Thursdays, taking place on the first Thursday of every month at 7 PM CET.

We will meet at:: https://meet.google.com/nvm-qivz-bnq

We will do all of the above. Set our goals. Learn about intentions. Talk about good writing habits. Find out what's working for other authors until we develop our own process. And in every meeting moving forward, we'll check in on the previous month's goals to see how you're doing.

The amazing thing about publishing is that we all win together. Let's keep hitting our goals and celebrating everyone's wins, books, published pieces, and more!
