Four Reminders-What draws us to spiritual practice?
Details
Harbor Dharma is very pleased to host Susan Malloy as a guest teacher this afternoon. She is a Mitra and Drupon in the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition and has been studying and practicing the Dharma for over 20 years. She will be teaching on the Four Thoughts/Reminders that draw us to spiritual practice.
The Four Thoughts that Turn the Mind to Dharma are
- Precious Human Birth
- Impermanence and Death,
- Karma: Cause and Effect, and
- Suffering of Samsara.
We will begin with guided meditation before Susan's Dharma Talk, followed by open discussion.
No previous experience necessary... Inquiring minds welcome!
This is a great opportunity for people new to the teachings of the Buddha, and is a topic that all practitioners return to throughout our practice life.
This will be a hybrid event, but in person attendance is encouraged. Please email Alida at info@harbordharma.net for the Zoom link.
Teaching Gift
Susan is offering this Dharma Talk freely. It is traditional to offer her Dana (a teaching gift). The amount is not as important as the offering, and should never be more than what is comfortable for you.
