Hello everyone!

We are super excited to announce the first HS LAB hardware startup showcase in partnership with HP (http://www8.hp.com/uk/en/home.html), Intel (http://www.intel.co.uk/content/www/uk/en/homepage.html) and Nvidia (http://www.nvidia.co.uk/page/home.html).

HP is hosting us at The Vinyl Factory (http://www.thevinylfactory.com/soho/), an amazing venue in the heart of Soho. The evening will take place as part of ZED (http://www.hp.co.uk/zed), a two-week show where HP hosts award-winning personalities from the creative world.

We have invited some of the best hardware startups in town and the evening will be a unique opportunity to come and listen to leading entrepreneurs and influencers in a friendly environment.

We have selected 7 awesome hardware startups and their founders to take part in this event showcasing their prototypes and products. Furthermore during the night there will be a panel discussion driven by a moderator followed by Q&A with the audience.

The speakers will be sharing their knowledge, demoing their products and discussing some of the design and technology challenges faced by hardware creators.

You will also have the opportunity to test out the latest HP Z Workstations and learn how their power can help you make the most of your talents.

Tom Whitwell is a digital strategy consultant and open source hardware designer and advocate. Until 2013 he was Head of Digital at The Times during that newspaper’s industry-leading transition to a successful paid digital subscription model, building a base of over 150,000 direct subscribers in three years.

Before joining The Times, Tom was a award-winning magazine editor, first at Mixmag during the Ibiza boom, then as Deputy Editor of The Face during the early noughties.

He’s also the founder of Music Thing Modular, a first wave blog-turned-hardware startup designing open-sourced electronic musical instruments. In April 2014 he led a UKTI-backed trade mission taking a group of British hardware startups to Shenzhen, China.
