Alcohol Harm Reduction
Details
Alcohol is one of the most socially accepted and widely used drugs in our society, yet conversations often become polarized between normalization and stigma. This interactive virtual workshop will explore alcohol through a harm reduction lens that recognizes complexity, pleasure, risk, culture, and lived experience.
Together, we’ll discuss:
- Why people use alcohol and the roles it can play in people’s lives
- Common alcohol-related harms and how risk is shaped by context
- Practical strategies to reduce harm related to drinking
- How to support people across different relationships to alcohol use
This session is designed to be interactive, with opportunities for reflection and small group discussion around real-world scenarios.
No specific background knowledge is required. The goal of this workshop is to create space for honest conversation, practical knowledge, and compassionate support around alcohol use and alcohol-related harm.
