Compassion Fatigue: Caring, Cost, and What Sustains Us
Details
Caring about someone who's struggling can be one of the most meaningful things we do — and one of the most exhausting. This workshop makes space for something we don't always say out loud: showing up for someone you care about can wear you down, even while it matters deeply.
Through short stories and honest discussion, we'll talk about what depletes people in caring roles, what sustains them, and what real, doable support can look like, without pretending there's one solution that fits everyone.
Together, we'll explore:
- A working understanding of compassion fatigue — not as a personal failure, but as something that can happen to anyone who keeps showing up with an open heart
- How exhaustion and meaning can coexist, sometimes in the very same moment
- Practical, situation-specific ways to support people carrying this weight — including yourself, if that's you
As always, this is a space for learning with one another, not at one another — no expertise required, just curiosity and care.
