Vocal Meditation Circle

Details

This circle is an opportunity to relax, release stress, and create community by creating sound, song and harmony together.

We'll create a safe place to use our voices to connect more deeply, with our inner selves and with each other. We'll do some simple toning, sing some chants and simple songs to create connection and harmony.

Since this is election day, we'll start at 7:30, after the polls close. I propose we dedicate this first meditation to releasing the election, visualizing a benevolent outcome for all, and setting our intention for creating a more peaceful way of being in the world.

Sliding Scale $10 — $20 exchange. NOTA

Note: this event is being promoted in several places, so the RSVP count here is not indicative of the actual number of attendees.

Who should come: Anyone looking to relax, promote healing and wellbeing, release tension, quiet their “monkey mind,” and connect with their deeper, more intuitive self.

What to expect: We’ll start with some breathing and intention-setting exercises. We'll do some vocal toning. We'll learn and sing some simple traditional chants and uplifting songs. All songs will be lead orally, with no sheet music.

Why Vocal Meditation? Singing stimulates the relaxation response in our bodies. Singing with other people triggers the release of our body's natural feel-good chemistry. It promotes health and wellbeing, while at the same time building community by reenforcing our sense of connectedness to others.
