[ONLINE] Harry Potter "Sorcerer's Stone" Book Club: Chs 17-The End!

This week we'll be reading (and finishing) "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone"! Unlike regular book clubs, we're (re)reading the HP novels a few chapters at a time.

We'll be discussing Ch. 17: 'The Man With Two Faces'. Here's a quick summary: Harry gets a surprise when the bad guy was Quirrell, not Snape! But the even greater surprise is that Voldemort had always been on the back of Quirrell's head. Harry manages to get the philosopher's stone out of the Mirror of Erised, only to be attacked by Voldemort. Surviving, Harry wakes up to Dumbledore and learns he'd saved the day. Dumbledore then pulls some shenanigans and Gryffindor wins the House Cup at the last minute!

As this is the final chapter, we'll also discuss our overall thoughts about the book. Next time, we'll be starting "Chamber of Secrets"!

First-timers are always welcome and the reading is only meant to be a jump-off point for conversation. Don't worry if you're a newcomer, as each book club is independent of each other. It's also fine if you don't have time to read or finish the text; we're an informal bunch and just love to chat!
