[ONLINE] Harry Potter Discussion: Back To Hogwarts
Details
Celebrate September 1st with us (on August 28th)! We'll come together to reminisce and hold a Harry Potter Discussion about going back to Hogwarts.
We'll chat about the Hogwarts Express! The oddity of Platform 9 3/4! So many beginnings (and a few ends). As regulars will know, we use the theme simply as a starting point. We'll go off on any number of tangents (Potter-related or no), so it's a pretty informal discussion/chat.
IMPORTANT: We'll be on Google Meet this week, where the direct link's shown to RSVPs.
Some questions we might touch on:
- How many muggles must get suspicious every September 1st at King's Cross?
- What does it say that the main characters kept returning to Platform 9 3/4 for crucial plot points, particularly at the beginning of each book and in the Epilogue?
- Does it make sense for Hogwarts to be hidden up in the Scottish Highlands?
- When Harry Potter was hit with avada kedavra a second time, he ended up in a facsimile of King's Cross Station. What did this represent? Was it real, and does that matter?
- Seriously, they take a train to Hogwarts. What do you think would be a better form of transportation?
- Harry Potter considered Hogwarts his home. Do you agree with this and, either way, why do you think so?
I hope to see you there!
