This will be a winter hike on the 3 mile loop. This is a well traveled area. We will watch to see what the weather creates for this event. My winter hikes require everyone to have microspikes. Please no Yak Traks.

If you are new to winter hiking warms socks will be necessary if you do not have insulated hiking boots. Walking in snow is like walking in beach sand.

The Sessions Woods preserve has a large sign on the road. When you pull in the road doubles back, at the top of the hill turn left into the parking area. There will be a bunch of state vehicles and a large building with flags. There have been port-o-potties on the property this season. I will park somewhere in the middle and have my back gate up.

You need to bring pack and dress for the weather with layers. Include windproof outer wear, fleece, hat, gloves, water, snacks, all in a pack. This is a hiking boot hike. It will be a changeable weather time of year. Traction devices required for this event.

If you are bringing a dog , it must be on a leash. Park rules.

Please check your route, download the GPS at home, know your travel time. Arrive early enough to start at the posted start time.
Items you must consider for every event:

  • If you have an event after a hike, please do not sign up for the hike.
  • End times are only an estimate.
  • The group will not adjust speed or trail route to accommodate your schedule.
  • If you cannot attend an event, please cancel 48 hours before. Late cancellations are rude and take away the option for others to join the event.
  • Be a good hiking human

We are in the bear's home so will be loud and leave them alone.
