The loop at the Ragged Mountain Preserve has great views and water features. In keeping with the name, the terrain is rocky and uneven in places with cool gorges to hike down into and back up again.

We will hike the big loop which makes this a 6ish mile hike. Lots of climbing and uneven rocky terrain. NO SNEAKERS AND NO COTTON CLOTHING. I don't leave anyone behind and do not want to be left.
New folks will be challenged-folks with experience, enjoy the group and inspire others.

The parking for this in on West Rd. which is a residential neighborhood. You will park on the right side of the road. There is a large and obvious entrance to this area. No bathrooms on site. Stop at the Mobile Station before you get to the park.

Dogs must be on a leash and not running through the group. NO KIDS.

For this winter event, you must have hiking boots and microspikes! NO YAKTRAX. A pack with snacks and at least a liter of water, whistle and layered clothing. The goal is to hike the loop, but trail conditions make it challenging. I will have snowshoes if any areas need to be broken out. It's a popular place so I am hoping many have been there recently.

Items you must consider for every event:

• If you have an event after a hike, please do not sign up for the hike.
• End times are only an estimate.
• The group will not adjust speed or trail route to accommodate your schedule.
• If you cannot attend an event, please cancel 48 hours before. Late cancellations are rude and take away the option for others to join the event.
• Be a good hiking human
