Are you curious about hiking in New Hampshire? This ZOOM event will give you information about the New hampshire plans for this summer.
I have offered training and a hike up the big mountains in New Hampshire for many years. I still enjoy hiking New Hampshire and return often. After completing all 48 of New Hampshire's 4000' mountains, all 67 of the New England 4000', and New England's Highest 100 mountains, my goals have changed and the lists I am working on have changed. I still enjoy introducing hikers to our New England high peaks.
The ZOOM call I am offering here is an introduction to high mountain hiking in New England. We will review the terrain and conditions found in the region. As we have done in year's past, there will be a series of training hikes that increase in difficulty. The goal is to prepare you for a trip to New Hampshire and a 4000' hike.
Right now the plan is to hike Carter Dome and Mt. Hight. It is on the 4000' list.
We will discuss gear, training, food, the logistics of New Hampshire, good hiking companions, and rest day activities.
Please make sure your name is visible on the ZOOM call. When you sign on you should be able to edit your name. Everyone on the call needs to do that.
When you join the call, I will ask that you type your full name, email address, and phone number into the chat. We will be collecting this information to create a contact list for this year. I will send out CT hikes with maps and instructions for you to hike on your own.
Please know that the call will be recorded. I will then post the You Tube link as a Meetup event for those who are not available for the live event.
