Hike at Penwood SP, Rt. 185 Bloomfield CT
Details
Heading out for a winter hike at Penwood in Simsbury. While this is generally an all levels event, you add a bunch of snow and it's a whole different thing.
It is winter. Microspikes are 100% required. If you have snowshoes I would bring them. The trail conditions may be varied, but count on us finding some ice. Insulated hiking boots are best. If you do not have those then warm socks are needed. Gaiters help keep the snow out. Please dress in layers. I will update closer to the event regarding the weather.
Please know that you are hiking with a group. We are only as fast as our slowest person. Please be flexible and supportive of all. We stay together for safety. Snack, water, and picture taking breaks as needed.
Please bring a pack with water, snacks, hat, gloves, warm outerwear, hiking boots.
Please no children. Well mannered dogs are welcome.
Items you must consider for every event:
- If you have an event after a hike, please do not sign up for the hike.
- End times are only an estimate.
- The group will not adjust speed or trail route to accommodate your schedule.
- If you cannot attend an event, please cancel 48 hours before. Late cancellations are rude and take away the option for others to join the event.
- Be a good hiking human.
