After Work Hike Sleeping Giant State Park,Hamden CT

I am running my after work hikes for the season. Please know that these events are all levels-beginners welcome. The hikes are shorter and less technical from my normal weekend hikes. 6:00 is what time I start walking. We finish before 8:00 p.m.

This has a vigorous climb up to the Tower. This will be a 4ish mile out and back. It is appropriate for beginners and your questionable footwear.

I am planning on doing the big wide groomed Tower Trail from the parking area to the tower. We may go straight up some of the blue trail. We shall see our mood. My goal, as always, is to be back at cars by 8:00 so we do not have a darkness issue. Meet at the parking lot across from Quinnipiac University.

I recommend a small pack with water and snacks, bug spray, headlamp, and I always suggest hiking boots.

Please no children. Dogs on leashes. Come out for a fun afternoon with like minded folks.

Please check your route, download the GPS at home, know your travel time. Arrive early enough to start at the posted start time.

• The group will not adjust speed or trail route to accommodate your schedule.
• If you cannot attend an event, please cancel 48 hours before. Late cancellations are rude and take away the option for others to join the event.
