This group is a place to meet other developers and ops engineers using HashiCorp tools!
HashiCorp enables orgs to provision, secure, connect and run any infrastructure for any application. DevOps engineers use the HashiCorp product suite of Vagrant, Packer, Terraform, Vault, Nomad, Consul, Boundary, and Waypoint on a daily basis.
This group gathers HashiCorp Users to share valuable experiences and knowledge.
Join us to learn more about best practices and how others have solved infrastructure problems with the integration of HashiCorp tools.
Come network, learn, and have fun! Our August meeting features an outstanding guest speaker:
Sean Carolan is a recovering system administrator. In the past Sean has worked as a Unix and Linux administrator for Electronic Arts and IBM. Nowadays you'll find him traveling, teaching and giving talks about devops and system automation.
When he's not in front of a computer, Sean enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, backpacking, yoga and swimming.
Easy Encryption as a Service with HashiCorp Vault Developers are not encryption specialists. But they all understand APIs. Vault brings powerful encryption features right into developer environments with simple APIs. This enables you to add encryption to legacy applications that were never designed with encrypted data in mind. You can even encrypt individual records in a database using Vault. This ensures that even if the entire database server were compromised that private data would remain safely encrypted. Vault acts as an Encryption as a Service endpoint, where you can encrypt and decrypt data using basic API calls.
During this session we'll explore the Vault Transit Secrets Engine and show you how easy it is to integrate into command line scripts or application code.
Also, we will be giving away FREE swag and a HashiCorp Certification Voucher to one lucky @DFWHUGS member. (NOTE: Must be a local member in the DFW Metroplex to win)
