HATs Buffalo Bayou Park and Downtown Houston Hike ~10 Miles

Details

We are relocating the hike due to the temporary closure of the Lone Star Hiking Trail.

The Hike: Following the floods, much Buffalo Bayou park trail has been reopened. Exactly how much changes as the water in the bayou recedes. We can do a full hike along the bayou and will walk as much of the trails along both sides of Buffalo Bayou as we can. Otherwise we will work our way around closed sections to make it to the Heights trail . Then go across downtown to Discovery Green and back to the start. Please note these are mostly paved trails.

In a change from our normal routine will be having the "after hike event" before returning to the parking. If you can't stay for the meal, it will be very easy to get back to the parking.

Gathering Place: The Waterworks is a new venue built next to the Jamail Skatepark. Use Parking Lot H off Memorial Drive, behind the Fonde Recreation Center. We will meet in the plaza facing Sabine Street.

Optional After Hike Event:

This is a bit different than our usual event. We will stop on the way back to the cars. It is about a mile from the restaurant to the parking. Anyone not wanting to eat can easily get back to the parking.
